Got problems with ATTEXT not working on blocks that you
inserted with the MEASURE or DIVIDE command?
Here is an AutoLISP solution:
Meas.fas will ask you to select an object to “array” on
an object. It works on open or closed
splines, open or closed polylines, lines, arcs, or whatever people use with
MEASURE or DIVIDE. It will ask you if
you want to specify a distance or equally space blocks on the object. This is not for people who don’t require
attribute extraction from their blocks.
That’s because it does only little more than the actual MEASURE and DIVIDE commands. This is a LISP version or emulation of that
command. If and when Autodesk ever
fixes the problem, this routine won’t be needed anymore. But if you want to save time and money now
with data extraction, you need this
routine today! Lancscape designers, if
you are using attext and are placing all your sprinkler heads manually on the
pipe line because of inability to
extract data from those blocks after MEASURE and DIVIDE, then this is your
ticket to speed. When specifying a
distance you will be asked to place only one block on an open polyline or
spline: at the starting point of the
object. When equally spacing the
blocks, you will be asked to place only two blocks. Those will be on the ENDPoints of the selected object. If it were possible, you could have
thousands of sprinklers on a line and only have to place two of them. This could also be good for fire sprinkler
system designers as well.
Here are some comments from my first purchaser of this

To all concerned,
Bill Deshawn created several AutoCAD Lisp file routines
for my business to allow me to increase the speed of design time. The routines work flawlessly perfect and
greatly exceed my expectations.
Additionally, these lisp files have, as a secondary result, helped to
make my design work much more professional looking, inasmuch as, the lisp files
place drawing blocks in exactly the right location on the design. I highly recommend Mr. Bill Deshawn to
anyone that needs to reduce drafting time and increase the professional look of
AutoCAD designs.
